Summary

On this episode of Chrisley Confessions 2.0, Todd Chrisley welcomes his longtime friend and country music icon Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts for a conversation that feels more like two neighbors catching up on the porch than a formal interview. The laughs start immediately with Todd’s very “Todd” introduction, and from there the stories don’t stop.

Jay opens up about life on the road again, what it’s been like returning to touring after the world hit pause, and why being behind the scenes now at Red Street Records has given him a whole new perspective on the music business. Todd, of course, keeps things lively with reflections on friendship, family, and what really matters when the spotlight fades and real life steps in.

Between talk of viral moments, proud dad updates, and their shared appreciation for low-maintenance friendships, the episode weaves humor with surprisingly heartfelt moments. It’s equal parts Southern storytelling, honest reflection, and the kind of banter you only get when two people genuinely know each other.

If you’re here for music, laughs, or just a good reminder that life is better when you don’t take it too seriously, this one delivers.

Welcome to Chrissy Confessions 2.0. You know, I've had so many people, you guys,

0:29.9

asking me like about friendship questions. You know, Todd, are you still friends with a lot of the

0:36.0

same people that you were friends with

0:38.8

before your unfortunate summer camp shit show and I have not said anything about anything

0:49.3

but a lot of you have been fixated on where do I stand with the DeMarcus family? And I would love to come

0:57.0

here and tell you that things are like they used to be. I would love to tell you that Jay did not

1:05.6

disappoint me. I would love to tell you that Jay is not the piece of shit that so many people

1:10.1

told me that he was going to end up being. I'd love to tell you that Jay is not the piece of shit that so many people told me that he was going to end up being. I'd love to tell you that. But actually, this piece of shit is here right now. So. What an introduction. What an introduction, my friend. I love you too. How are you today? I'm doing great. It's so good to see you. It's good to see you. I can't believe I haven't seen you since you've been back. I know. I know. We've been, we talk on the phone, we message, we're, we Instagram stuff to each other, but you're back on the road again. And live less than a mile from me. Exactly. We live literally less than a mile from each other.

But you're back to touring. Yeah. And you're actually leaving tonight or tomorrow. Yeah.

And you're going. Gosh, where Minneapolis and then St. Paul and Omaha, Nebraska.

You know, Jay, when I was, I don't know if you know this, but I had, you know, I had a long sabbatical of about 28 months. That's what I understand. And I would literally be there working out and I would hear life as a highway. Really? These guys were constantly had Rascal Flats on loop. That's so awesome. And I would just shake my head and laugh and I'd look up and I'd say, God, you have a twisted sense of humor today. Yeah. You can't, you can't outrun me. That's exactly right, nor did I want to. But, you know, so I know that the kids are good and my Dylan is now stepping out and doing his own thing with singing. I know you always told me that he would be a star and he had a viral moment. Gary

2:35.3

was kind enough to post a video of us somewhere taping the New Year's Eve special and it had like

2:41.4

six million views in five days. And so we went in and cut the song and he's just been on top of the

2:46.6

world. He's so good. I was watching it and I messaged you and I said, where's this clip? I need this clip to post. And I'm so proud of him. I mean, everyone in the house was like, I'm getting text messages. Did you see Dylan singing? And Savannah's a huge fan of his anyway. She thinks she's the sweetest kid in the world. And so I'm so proud of him and I want to have him. I'm going to ask you now, I want him to come on our podcast. Absolutely. Because I feel like that he is the next big thing, and you're going to end up having to manage him. Yeah. Any excuse to get him out of school, he'd be happy to do whatever you want him to do. So how's it been going for you? It's been great.
