Hello. Today, world leaders gathered for the G20 summit in Rio this week, and amid tensions between Russia and the US, China's President Xi became the star attraction.

We visit Palm Beach in Florida, home to Donald Trump's Winter White House,

Mara Lago, where people are jostling for jobs in the incoming administration. In the

Faroe Islands, rounding up sheep on steep, slippery slopes, can prove challenging at the

best of times, especially when they make an escape.

And in Austria, we visit the town of Bard Eshel, where we reflect on the collapse of an empire,

the effects of which are still being felt today.

But first to the mountains on the front line of climate change.

Pakistan administered Gilgit Baltistan sits among some of the world's highest mountains

and longest glaciers.

But if emissions continue on their current trajectory, experts say some glaciers in this region

could lose up to two-thirds of their volume by the end of the century.

This would have devastating consequences

for locals living in their shadow, some of whom are already seeing their homes destroyed by

landslides and floods. Caroline Davis travelled to the Hunza Valley in the Caracora Mountains.

Cavernous, vast, precarious, beautiful.

The roads of Gilgit Baltistan wind closely to the jagged sand-grey peaks,

sometimes sprayed with dust from a recent slow-moving landslide,

and others with their cement sides broken by a golden-grey boulder.

The scale of the landscape can feel humbling. There is little any man-made structure can do to hold back the crumbling face of these

vast mountains and the weather's force. But this landscape, which feels as old as time, is changing.
