You are Nick Bostrom, very well-known philosopher of a kind of unusual sort.

I mean, is there a label for the kind of philosopher you are? Are you called a philosopher of

futurism or something? No label that I really like. I mean, philosopher, I guess, is broad enough

to encompass a lot of things that I'm interested in.

But, uh, well, you're definitely a philosopher by, by credential, but you're, you're an unusual.

You're an unusual.

Yeah, I've never really made a sharp separation between philosophy and science.

And so in my academic background, I studied a bunch of things, theoretical physics and AI and all kinds of stuff. And in my subsequent work as well, it's often kind of pursued its prey across the boundaries of different disciplinary fields.

Okay. So we're going to talk about your new book, Deep Utopia, Life and Meaning in a Solved World.

I think we should talk about it in the context of your past work. And also, I want to say a little about that for the benefit of people who may not be familiar with how influential you've been in some circles.

I mean, first of all, your name is associated with a couple of pretty well-known arguments
