Spiritual disciplines: life-giving or life-sucking? Many of us have feelings of dread when we think about spiritual disciplines. We think about all the things we “have to” or “should do” as believers and then think about all the ways we fail to do those things. We know they’re good for us, but they feel too hard! Our understanding and approach to spiritual disciplines matters a lot. They should be life-giving practices that lead to spiritual growth, true joy, and deepened intimacy with Christ. 0:45.8	For many of us, the word discipline can conjure up feelings of dread even if it's coupled

0:53.8	We can think they're things we should do as believers, but maybe we don't always feel

0:59.9	Maybe we don't know how to actually do them.
1:02.1	Or if we do, we struggle with consistency, which adds to the negative feelings we have.

1:09.8	Spiritual disciplines can and should be life giving to us as followers of Christ.
1:15.0	They are the means God has given us to grow in grace and not only that, they're how
1:19.7	we experience joy and intimacy with Jesus.

1:25.1	Our understanding of spiritual disciplines and how we approach them in our everyday lives
