Summary

This week two become three again as Iain returns from his travels to tell us that he's going travelling again, but also to join Andrew in asking Eddie if he thought he should have made more of an effort in getting to Kenya. There then follows a series of reflections on what Eddie - and indeed all humans - want from life.

In golfing terms they discuss Jon Rahm's refusal to pay his fines and whether it leaves him out in the Ryder Cup cold, Jacob Bridgeman's win at Riviera, Nelly Korda's stay-at-home attitude and Eddie's preparations for the SA Open at Stellenbosch.

In association with Peter Millar, brought to you by Andrew Cotter, Eddie Pepperel, and special guest Ian Carter.

Nice.

0:29.1

Thank you. Ian Carter. Nice. Hello and welcome to the chipping forecast once again.

0:33.7

With Eddie Pepperl.

0:36.4

Eddie, quick question, do you now wish that you had bid less for your upgrade to Nairobi?

0:41.7

Very much so.

0:42.5

I think we can get our flight ticket back, but not the upgrade.

0:45.9

So that was very much wasted £602.

0:49.3

£602 just to get the upgrade that never happened.

0:53.4

More importantly, we can ask a question of our

0:55.9

regular special guest. He's going to be regular again. Ian Carter, who's back from the Orient.

1:01.6

What tales of the Orient, Ian? It's been a wonderful six weeks. It really has an amazing trip.

1:29.3

Vietnam, New Zealand, and then the last three days in Hong Kong. And what a contrast between New Zealand, which Andrew, honestly, I heard you on the pod saying how you'd never been to New Zealand and had been scuppered by the fact that the 2011 Rugby World Cup rights didn't go the way of BBC radio and...

1:32.8

Because one of our listeners gave them away.

1:34.9

But it's Scotland on steroids in many respects.

1:38.9

But it's just such a peaceful way of life whereby everybody has time for each other and nothing's

1:48.3

overcrowded and it's just so glorious. I, you know, I've covered a bit of New Zealand rugby in my time

1:55.8

and often found them quite taciturn and quite hard to really like that that much. But honestly,

2:04.4

if Scotland don't win the Rugby World Cup, I just want New Zealand to win. It's my

2:08.9

favourite place on earth. And Hong Kong was a real, real culture shock after that. But nonetheless,
