Acts, chapter 2, I want to begin reading at verse 17.

In the last days, everybody say last days.

In the last days, God says,

that God didn't say already, doesn't say God said, God is in the process of

still saying God says. In the last days, God says says I will pour out my spirit on all people. Your sons and

daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream

dreams. Even on my servants both men and

women I will pour out my spirit in those days and they will prophesy and I will show

wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and

fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to

blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord, and everyone who calls on the name of the

Lord will be saved.

What I want you to understand is that in the immediate sense of this gathering of believers when Peter spoke

these words they were fulfilled in the immediate sense but they speak of

something far more ultimate, far exceeding that which was given in a deposit

in an earnest at that particular time.

They saw something in the microcosm of their experience in the terminology we're using tonight

But it is something for a time in the future that will happen in the difference between a shower and a flood.

There is a flood of the Holy Spirit coming.
