Summary

It was inevitable, I suppose: everything that the progressive movement touches it progressively erodes, and then eventually, progressively destroys. There was a time when the term 'Harvard graduate' meant a guarantee of quality. Now, it barely covers 'minimally competent' and also brings all kinds of certain ideological baggage -- the kind of baggage it would take to destroy the number one beer brand in America, just as one example. The shift from academies of learning into centers of indoctrination means that brick and mortar colleges and universities are on their way out and they are not coming back. And it's a genuine shame. Guys, when I talk about talking about life after college, you probably think I meant what happened to us or what happens to somebody else when they finish college.

0:19.8

That's not what I'm talking about.

0:21.2

I'm talking about a future, which I think is going to be in the near future,

Saw an article on Instapundit where it talked about colleges building facilities

0:34.6

like it's going out of style.

I think I heard that University of Kentucky was spending

0:39.7

$830,000, was it a day or something like that? They're just using tons and tons of money to build

0:47.2

bigger and bigger facilities for their universities, which of course is a result of the government

0:52.1

taking over the student loan program. Used to be that a bank would decide whether or not you were likely to pay off a loan and you

0:58.5

could either get a student loan or not predicated on your ability to pay it back.

But with Obamacare came the federal government pumping actually trillions of dollars into the

1:09.6

university system. So the universities go out and

1:12.5

buy all this stuff and now tenants is going down. But that's not even the problem, guys. There was a

1:18.5

time when if somebody said they graduated from Harvard Law School, that would mean that they were

1:22.9

very likely in a very small group of the very best people in the world. But when Harvard has, you know, safe spaces and coloring books and puppies and stuff for people who get upset,

1:35.1

I really think that universities have lost all of their credibility,

1:41.4

and I don't see any way for them to get it back.

1:46.4

So, Steve,

1:52.3

you used to have to go to college because that's where the smart people were and that's where the education was and so you would go there to get that. You're not getting an education
