Hey everybody, welcome to a very special bonus episode of Talking To Tongue.

Michael and I, we were sort of chatting recently over a nice stick dinner about what if any

movie we would want to cover from this year, if we ever, if the well ever ran dry, talking

to Tongue, you know, if we ever ran out of rocks to turn over a new subject of discourse

obviously, that would never be the case. But what other movie from this year would, would

we want to discuss on the podcast? And we both said at the drop of the hat, no, no questions

asked, licorice, licorice pizza. Absolutely. And so we figured, you know, what the heck, we're

not going to miss a, a main, a main feed episode of Talking To Tongue, obviously, but

we thought why not do a little something extra for the kids out there, a little, a little

stalking stuff for them, if you will, a little bonus at discussing another great filmmaker,

Paul Thomas Anderson, and his, his 2021 offering licorice pizza. So Michael, what do you, what

do you got? I'll say this, this is a movie that I was excited about before it came out.

I am a big Paul Thomas Anderson guy, someone I kind of grew into later in life. I don't think

I really got Paul Thomas Anderson or got really into him until like, I don't know, like

2015 when I went back and started watching his films, but I was excited about this movie.

There's a lot of mystery around it. And I was actually in one of the theaters in Los Angeles,

the first weekend, they were showing the trailer on 35 millimeter at two different theaters

in Los Angeles. And I think I was at like the second or third screening where it played.

And I found it electrifying like the trailer to this movie itself. It got me so excited.

And the movie didn't disappoint. I've seen it twice. I'm seeing it again for Christmas day,

that this will already be out after that happens, but I'm a fan. I think it does a lot of very

cool things. I don't think it's his best movie. I don't think it's in his top three, but I think
