The 1960s were a decade of protest.

There are also groups of young Americans who just wanted to escape the system entirely,

to hell with social norms, to hell with the rat race of capitalism.

They were going to create their own intentional communities, their own communists, and they

fled the big cities for these rural settings.

The community known as Libre was established in 1968, and to this day, in a sunny meadow

overlooking the Sangre de Cristo mountain range.

There are two geodesic domes that sit side by side.

And one early morning, in 1974, a baby was born in the smaller of those two domes.

And that baby grew up to be our very own mixed engineer, loose Fleming.
