Also tonight, the North Texas founder, the far right militia group Oath Keepers faces up to 20 years in prison.

Stewart Rhodes along with another member of the group were convicted of seditious conspiracy.

found guilty of seditious conspiracy.

We should all be pleased and relieved by this verdict. I followed the trial, paying particular attention to the coverage in law fair, filed by Roger Parloff.

Parloff was concerned by the fact that Rhodes, Kelly Megs and his co-defendants never had an actual plan to go actually inside the actual capital and do anything.

That might have been a stumbling block for the jury.

What the prosecution argued was something like, what these defendants said so often and so vociferously that we need to act as a militia, we need to disallow the results of the vote to go through, that no matter what specific act that sentiment took hold of, they were conspiring toward an act of sedition.
