reporter at the automotive news. My guest on the podcast today is Sun Quan Kang, investment director at LG Technology Ventures,

the LG Group's venture capital arm.

We're going to be talking about batteries and the challenges involved in investing in battery tech

that takes a long time to reach the market. And in today's AI-centric

climate as well, there are some headwinds. But first today, we've got to look at this week's

headlines. And for that, I am pleased to welcome my colleague Molly Boygan. Molly, how are you

today? I'm doing well, Pete. I wonder what headlines we're going to talk about. I think there is one and one only,

and that, of course, goes well beyond the mobility sphere. Obviously, the U.S. election is three days

old at this point, and the results have some big ramifications. We will cover the transportation

side here, Molly. You know, and one of the stories

you wrote this week, I think you quoted someone that said the best description of the impact is

immediate volatility. Can you explain that? Yes. So there's a few reasons why that is. Number one,

and probably most obviously, is that President-elect Donald Trump has been

pretty vocal in his criticism of some of the government measures meant to incentivize EV adoption,

including the IRA, and it's unclear about what he's going to do for a few reasons. First of all,

because, you know, no one has a crystal
