Last episode we learned about atonement, and this idea of atonement is really at the heart of

Leviticus. It's what Leviticus is all about. How do we atone for our sins? Or how did the Hebrews then

atone for their sins? And all pointing to the fact that, thank the good Lord, we don't have to do

all of these things today because we have Jesus who was the ultimate atonement for sin.

But back in last episode, we were talking about the fact that there was this Yom Kippur,

which is what the Hebrews used as their day of atonement.

We learned a lot about the history of that and the why behind it.

And it was their... That it still exists today. That they still do it today. And it was their day when they were

purified from top to bottom inside out of all the sins of the last year. It's the only day that the high

priest could enter the most holy place. And it is also the only ritual involving the scapegoat.

That little scapegoat who was sent out into the wilderness carrying the burden of their sins.

Yeah. A very visual reminder of what they were doing. Exactly. Exactly.

Okay. In most books, good authors compel the reader to reflect, to pause and ask, what about my life? They compel us to

curiously compare the subject of the book to our own reality, to ask ourselves, do I do that?

Should I? Could I do that? Do I want that? Care about that? Believe that. In this book,

the Bible, this is Bible

of words into this book. They want us to think, to believe, to have faith, and to apply what
