Sometimes I think that either at one extreme or another, we don't think right about the devil.

On one hand, we give him way too much credit.

We blame the devil for things that's really just our old wicked flesh, and it's not the devil at all.

It's our sin, the sin in us.

On the other hand, we fail to recognize that he is at work,

and we forget there's spiritual warfare going on. Recently, I was engaged in a gospel work,

in a meeting, and the Lord was really blessing and doing some amazing things. In the midst of that,

there was real conflict, there was real struggle. It wasn't human.

It was different than that. It was deeper than that. And suddenly, I was reminded, wait a minute,

if we're engaged in advancing the glorious gospel of Christ and the Church of the Living God is moving

forward, the Bible says the gates of hell should not prevent against it. That means you're charging the gates of hell. That means you're doing spiritual

battle. And so we must remember that the devil hates the work of God. He hates God and

therefore he hates us. Now if you're on the front lines today, if you're battling, there's some

things you've got to remember.

We've learned already that you've got to remember who the devil is. He's God's enemy.

Number two, we've learned that you have to remember who you are.

Even Michael the Archangel was just a servant of the Lord, totally dependent on the Lord.
