The subject matter of the book is in the first line of the first chapter. It says,

The Revelation of Jesus Christ. That's what the book is about. The word revelation

means unveiling or disclosure.

So it's disclosing or unveiling

Jesus Christ at his

second coming.

So John is writing in verse 4 to the seven churches. The seven churches

that are in Asia, Asia Minor we call it, the seven churches. So this prophetic word is given to the

church. So even though it's words about the future prophecy, it's word to the church. So even though its words about the future, prophecy,

its word to the church about the future.

So he wants us to know now as the church

what God's prophetic program is.
