Well, welcome to the program. It's great to be with you today. I'm glad that you're here listening in.

I know you've had to wait a little bit for this episode. This has been a little bit of a tough one to

put together. So I appreciate your patience in waiting. Today we're going to tackle one of the most

enigmatic. And I think probably the most enigmatic human origin stories that we can

find anywhere in the ancient world. And this is the account of Adam and Eve, as recorded in the

Judeo-Christian tradition in the book of Genesis. Now, chances are you've heard this story before.

I mean, it's one of the most well-known accounts of

human origins that's ever been told. But today we're going to go beyond a rote rehashing of it.

And we're going to dig into some of the key elements that are often overlooked, but are really

important if we want to get a proper understanding of the narrative.

I can promise you that by the end of this account,

now I had to divide it into two parts, so there are two parts to it,

that you'll not only learn things that you never knew about the Adam and Eve origin story,

but that you'll learn things that can fundamentally reshape your understanding of the entire narrative.

But I have to give you a warning up front.

To do this, we're going to have to get into the weeds.

And as many of you know, the Bible was originally written in Hebrew.

So we're going to need to get into the original Hebrew. We're

going to have to get into some Hebrew grammar, the historical context of the compilation of the Bible,
