All right, it's Dean Del Rey. I'm glad to be talking on today's episode. I'm usually

a beachward canyon, but today I'm in La Canada. Or if you looked at it, it looks like

La Canada. It's Canyada. Yeah, La Canada. Spanish. But it looks like Canada. Yeah, it's

the Canada. Yeah, the Canada. My guest today, I'm fired up about this, Bill Delia, right?

The father of Chris Delia, actor and comedian of Whitney, and Matt Delia, movie director,

both my great friends. But you're the king of the family, right? Well, I guess the patriarch,

I suppose there was no, well, no, yeah, I'm the desperate. I'm the king. Yeah, man, I mean,

you saw L. Ray, that's what Picasso said. Yeah, there you go. I'm the king. You are the king.

It's hilarious because first of all, if you're just, if you turned in the reason I want

to have you on is I like to have people on that, that work hard or because I hate people

that get in through the back door on anything, you know what I mean? Yeah, so you're a huge

TV producer, right? Well, okay, huge. Yeah, I mean, if you do, first of all, if you do

one show in Hollywood, that's big. If you do multiple shows and they're on a long time,

that's big. Yeah, I've done a lot. You know, I prefer to be called a director because that's

how the producing started for me. That's how I got into producing. I never started out,

even, never even had an inkling to want to produce anything. But I became popular as a

television director and people who were making the shows wanted me to stick around because they

liked my style. And then I wound up producing because it was, it became a lot more fun. And in

television, you, the power is mainly with the writer. And over the course of the last 20 years

that I've been involved in television, there's been this development where the writer, partners

with a director and together, they produce the show. And that's been your part. What's happened

to me is I've directed lots of television shows and I've now directed and produced quite a bunch.
