Fourth of July weekend, bombs. I remember just, you know, 12, 13, you got like 10 bucks in your pocket, you go down to Chinatown.

1:19.0

As soon as you turn the corner off Broadway into Chinatown, you immediately just start, you know, if I look, if I look, if I look, if I look, and you know, these guys will be swarming you, just like, just young Chinese kids.

1:35.0

And you'd be like, yeah, and they'd take you into some weird back alley knock on the door and guy would just have bricks of firecrackers.

1:46.0

Bricks, man, when you're a kid, bricks are so cool when you're a kid because like, when I was first growing up, and this is weird, I just going into a firecracker firework tangent or whatever, but I just love them.

2:05.0

You know, there's something about it when you're first growing up. I remember in the neighborhood, there was this guy, and he would have like, you know, there's always that dad that probably wasn't Vietnam or something, and he could just make bombs and shit.

2:21.0

I had a guy in my neighborhood, he had like a can and he made it was just like a pipe and it had like a fuse, and he'd cram shit in there and just shoot this cannon.

2:32.0

It was like the highlight of Fourth of July, like, oh, we got to go see the cannon.

And then later on, there'd be like, stoners in your neighborhood selling firecrackers. It was 25 cents a pack. I remember, it's hilarious, it sounds so old.

2:49.0

I remember when I was young, you would buy firecrackers for 25 cents a pack.

2:56.0

So, but they were fucking loud back then too. I don't think firecrackers are loud anymore. They just skimp on the gunpowder and back then, man.

3:09.0

I remember, once and while you'd hold one, the fuse would go quick and just blow off in your hand, fuck your hand. Oh, man. Try to lie to your mom that you didn't have firecrackers. I don't know what happened to your hand, but just be popped.

3:23.0

And all the firecrackers still goes back to that love of artwork. You know, look, there's another thing where I got the artwork. Album covers and, you know, firecrackers.

3:39.0

They would have artwork on them like thunder bombs, black cat. If you Google firecrackers, you can like, vintage firecrackers. You can see all the old names of these companies.

3:53.0

That were like somewhere in China just making firecrackers and putting on these artwork on thunder bombs. My favorite, just the look of it.

4:04.0

It was for some reason it was just like a big TV antenna with firecrackers hooked onto it just blown up. I don't know what the fuck that is.

4:13.0

And it could maybe not even be that. I'm just fucking, that's how I remembered it.

4:19.0

But, you know, I'd be selling firecrackers 25 cents a pack and then later on you find out that he was going to Chinatown by them, just making big money.
