I'm Michael Barronowski, a of Political Science at Norfolk Kentucky University. Today's show is going to be a little bit different than our

normal weekend show, and that's because, as I mentioned in last week's episode, that we're

going to give our hosts the week off on this, we normally record on Saturday mornings, August

15th is today, And we will be returning

to our regular show next week. But there were some things that happened this week. And before we

get to the main part of today's show, which will be first my interview with political scientist Jacob Hacker and Paul Pearson,

and then Jay will join me for some commentary that we recorded. But there were some things that

happened this week. And I felt like I should at least maybe take a few minutes to talk about them,

comment on them before we get to that. So this will actually be an extra long episode of the politics guys.

I think all things considered, though, slightly different in format.

And again, we'll be going back to our regular weekend show next week with Trey and Ken hosting the show.

Maybe it was just the fact that I couldn't bear the thought of going two whole weeks without actually talking to you guys about what's going on in politics.

That sounds actually about right.
