Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's bell again. So today, we're going to talk about why Trump

can't force peace in Ukraine. Trump is putting maximum pressure on Ukraine to accept a peace deal

with his name on it. It was a campaign promise to have that situation resolved by some time last month.

That didn't happen.

And the administration is now pursuing some kind of deal with pretty much every tool at its disposal,

to the point of alienating U.S. allies in Europe and making allies all over the world nervous

about whether or not a U.S. commitment

means anything at all. The pressure is so high that right now the rumor is the U.S. will vote

against a U.N. resolution condemning the Russian invasion. But here's the problem with this whole exercise. A peace deal that isn't

accepted by the combatants means nothing. It doesn't matter what the terms are. It doesn't

matter who signs it. It doesn't matter what the international consensus is. It doesn't matter what the major powers say.

A peace that isn't accepted by the combatants isn't a peace. It simply changes the dynamics of the conflict.

Look back to recent conflicts. May of 2003, the Iraqi army was disbanded. Y'all remember that? Mission accomplished.

Did the fighting stop? Even once there were elections in 2005, the fighting continued. What about

Afghanistan? Most people don't know this, but the interim government was established in December of 2001.

Did the fighting stop?

Why is there an expectation that Ukrainian soldiers will stop fighting when Russian troops are still present?

Because major powers said they needed to?

Let's put it in another context. Canada invades the United

States. They take Michigan, North Dakota, and Montana. Then the UK starts putting pressure on the

U.S. to find a peace. Then Canada and the U.K. work out a deal. They push the U.S. into accepting. Do you think the guys in Montana stop fighting?

I mean, a lot of the guys in Michigan barely tolerate a U.S. government presence, and you think they're going to be chill with a foreign one?
