Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about

getting the party started and shutdowns. If you missed it yesterday, Democrats in the Senate

said they would not help the Republican Party out of their jam this time when it comes to

the potential government shutdown. While the Republican Party passed a

continuing resolution over in the House, they're significantly short in the Senate. Our vote count

says that Republican Senator Rand Paul is voting no, and Democratic Senator Federman would vote in favor

of it. We have one more potential Republican

no vote and one more potential Democratic yes vote. But even if all of the current potential

wildcards swing to yes, that isn't enough for it to pass. Democratic Senate Minority Leader Schumer

indicated that Democrats weren't coming to rescue

Republicans this time. So the question is, did centrist Democrats really just adopt the,

it's going to happen anyway, let's get this party started plan? Not really. That plan entails not providing the votes and refusing to provide the votes until Trump ends

his trade war and Doge is gone.

That would basically tank the economy overnight.

That isn't what they're doing.

Even though Democrats are saying they won't vote for the 99-page continuing resolution

that has a bunch of Republican wishless items in it, and they're saying they won't save

Republicans from themselves again, they actually did offer to save them, although in a far more

productive manner than usual. Schumer said Democrats were, quote,

unified on a clean April 11th C.R. that will keep the government open and give Congress time to

negotiate bipartisan legislation that can pass. That gives Republicans an out. Republicans control the House.

Republicans control the Senate.
