So today, we're going to talk about whether college is worth it.

Some data that came out last month is getting a lot of exposure online right now based on polling.

And because of that polling, people might need to look at the actual numbers rather than people's

The polling data came out from a Gallup poll last month that said only 35% of Americans believe college is very important. In 2019,

53% of Americans felt college was very important. In 2010, 75% thought college was very important.

You don't need a college degree to see there's a marked trend showing a collapse

in the belief that higher education is important. If you break it down by political party,

the results are what you would expect. Only 20% of Republicans today think higher education is

very important, while 48% of Democrats do.

The decline is more pronounced on the Republican side of the aisle, but both parties trended down.

I'm going to give you the numbers, but just to start, that is plain wrong. The median income in a household headed by someone with at least a bachelor's was $132,700.
