what Biden is leaving Trump economically. You'll need this video periodically over the next few years.

Given Trump's stated economic plans, it's probably wise to go ahead and take a little

snapshot of where the economy is right now.

Before his tweets and proposals start really altering the economy.

Because Trump's election itself is likely to cause shifts in the economy, presumably a bounce

up in consumer confidence, a bump in the stock market, and so on. The numbers

we're about to go over are the last ones before Trump's imminent presidency starts influencing

things. Some of these metrics aren't things we've talked directly about on the channel before,

but they inform the economic

takes you've heard. Since inflation is one of the biggest topics, we'll start there. Personal

consumer expenditures is sitting at 2.3%. If that number sounds low, that's because while

that's the Fed's favorite measurement, mine is core inflation, and that's the number I typically use on the channel.

That's at 2.8%.

Unemployment is currently 4.1%, which is high compared to the rest of Biden's term.

But that's what Biden is handing Trump.

The October Consumer Confidence Index is 109.6.

Okay, let's move on to the GDP. The gross domestic product is up 2.8% for the quarter.
