Well, howdy there, internet people. It's fell again. So today, we're going to talk about war powers,

Trump, and what's next. A little more than a week ago, the House went on break, after the Senate

advanced a war powers resolution, and Speaker of the House Johnson appeared worried

that enough Republicans were fed up with the Trump administrations failed foreign policy and

military campaigns. Well, it turns out he had good reason to be afraid that enough Republicans

are more worried about the wrath of the

voters than they are about supporting Trump's elective war. The House took the vote on Wednesday. Shortly

afterward, Representative Massey, who Trump campaigned against, celebrated the result on social media.

The vote in the House was 215 to 208, in favor of restricting Trump's ability to continue his

ill-advised war. Even though it was just a handful of Republicans that crossed the aisle, it was enough.

Okay, so what happens from here?

It still has to make it through the Senate, assuming it does.

Conventional wisdom is that Trump would veto it and Congress would need to override it. However, given how quickly Trump has

been giving up on things, like the Kennedy Center and his fare, there's a growing feeling in

some circles that he might use the war powers resolution to call it quits. That seems like a long shot, but it's in bounds enough

to mention. One reason is that Rubio kind of flubed his congressional hearing, during which

Senator Booker of New Jersey took Rubio to task, saying, quote, and that was the exact deal that you guys vilified,

that the president and you vilified President Obama for having. Adding quote, here we have a

worst situation where our adversary and our enemy, who's causing havoc in the region,

who is funding proxies and terrorists, has discovered, thanks to you all,

the power of shutting down the Strait of Hormuz.
