So today, we're going to talk about Trump wanting to keep the tariff money, and FedEx having other plans.

The Supreme Court struck down Trump's Liberation Day tariffs and declared them unlawful.

Despite the tax being ruled unlawful, Trump wants to keep the money.

In reporting says the Trump administration is already workshopping different ideas to keep the money it unlawfully collected.

While you do have some in the administration

talking to the press about the desire to keep the money, the biggest evidence that Trump wants

to keep it is his own statement. Quote, they take months and months to write an opinion,

and they don't even discuss that point.

I guess it has to get litigated for the next two years.

It doesn't have to be litigated at all.

Trump could simply refund the money that was unlawfully taxed.

Imagine Trump imposing an unlawful income tax, taking the money out of your check, and then

when the tax is struck down, basically saying, sue me again to get your money back.

It seems like the administration is trying to find good rhetoric to convince people

to let the government keep the money that created the costs passed on to them.

Treasury Secretary and former soybean man, Scott Bessent, described giving back the money

they unlawfully collected as the, quote,

ultimate corporate welfare. Well, that rhetoric probably isn't going to deliver for the administration.

FedEx hit the administration with a double whammy.

While the Court of International Trade has to sort through more than a thousand cases related to tariff refunds,

the FedEx suit is probably the one that will catch Trump's attention.
