Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Trump, uniting Europe.

Trump seems to be making Europe great again, and in the process weakening the United States.

The UK and the EU are reportedly well on their way to signing what's being called a new strategic

partnership. A draft has become public. Honestly, it looks more like an introduction to a new

partnership than a full-on agreement at this point. But it's worth going over, because the goals

will set the tone. It looks like the general idea is to bolster free trade in Europe, not with the United States,

and to present a united front on multiple issues.

Most of those issues put the EU and UK on the opposite side of Trump, at least as rhetoric.

The draft specifically spelled out, quote,

We confirmed our shared principles of maintaining global economic stability and our mutual

commitment to free and open trade.

It also says they want to, quote, mitigate the impact of fluctuations on the

global economic order. It's clear from context that's about Trump. The UK's prime minister

wouldn't comment directly on the text, but did say, quote, the prime ministers being clear that there are

significant benefits to be had by having a better partnership with the EU in terms of jobs,

British businesses, reducing trade barriers, driving growth and keeping us safe in an increasingly dangerous world.

So you'd expect us to be discussing a wide range of issues with the EU,

and obviously get an update on that at the summit.

Aside from trade, the document takes other swipes at Trump.

It talks about multilateralism and support for international

institutions. The Paris Agreement seems to have continued support, regardless of Trump pulling out of it.
