So today, we're going to talk about Trump versus National Parks, Yosemite Edition.

But first, it's Giving Day for California State University Northridge.

We've been helping Project Rebound there for a couple of years now.

It's a great program that helps people reenter society, and one of y'all is actively involved with the program.

Last year, we helped them raise almost $100,000.

Okay, on to the news. Trump's firings have impacted the national parks. There have been an estimated 5,000 federal employees working public lands that have

lost their jobs since Valentine's Day. About 1,000 of those were with the National Park Service.

Then there's an additional 700 or so that took that weird resignation offer. The firings have left a lot of people

worried about the state of the National Parks and that concern has triggered an outpouring

of support and demonstrations. Some of the more noticeable moments have come in support of Yosemite, or Yosemite, as it's sometimes pronounced.

Please don't let him rename it that.

On February 22nd, visitors saw an upside-down flag hanging at the top of El Capitan.

The flag was reportedly hung by a person associated with the park who said, quote,

We're bringing attention to what's happening to the parks, which are every American's properties.

It's super important we take care of them, and we're losing to the parks, which are every American's properties.

An upside-down flag is traditionally a symbol of distress.

Elsewhere on the park, signs have been emerging in view of the park's

many webcams. Some are simple, reading, quote, stand up for public land and the people who

protect it. Others include a play on words like the one of Badger Pass ski area that said, quote, go badger your reps.
