Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about

Trump versus Massey. With everything going on right now, it's probably been really hard to keep up

with the inner political turmoil within the Republican Party. But the recent unpleasantness definitely exposed some fault lines, and now Trump appears to be

taking the division to the next level.

Trump's political organization seems to be setting its sights on ousting a well-known Republican.

Representative Thomas Massey has been elected by Kentucky's fourth district every

election since 2012. He's faced a few primaries and has come out on top repeatedly. But now,

it seems almost certain that he'll be facing a Trump-backed candidate in the next primary. You see, when Trump ordered

the strikes on Iran, Massey called them, quote, not constitutional. That was apparently the final

straw for Trump. That's a little odd, to be honest, because Massey has been pretty consistent

when it comes to a president using military

force without the approval of Congress. I mean, we're talking about a guy who introduced a bill

to clarify that no authorization to hit Iran exists in 2019. His position is not a surprise. He's the type of anything outside our borders

isn't our problem, isolationist, that Trump pretends to be. Massey has also been a thorn

in Trump's side when it comes to his deficit-raising spending bill, which is also a very consistent position for

Massey. It's why his voters keep sending him back, but ideological consistency isn't something that Trump

values. So, he's reportedly turned his half a billion dollar political machine against Massey.

The group has apparently already commissioned polling.

That survey is said to have concluded that Massey only has 23% support.

The Trump team is already gaming out strategy and trying to figure out how to keep others out of the race

so they can rally support against Massey behind one candidate. Massey seemed unfazed and

unbothered by the news, kind of blowing Trump off by saying, quote, any serious person
