So today, we're going to talk about Trump versus Farmers, Grassley and Tariff Edition.

Their fundraiser is going

strong. We don't have official numbers yet, but it looks like around 10,000 so far. So starting

off, the tariffs have farmers nervous, and a senior Republican Senator Chuck Grassley weighed in on

their concerns. To set the scene here, the tariffs on Canada are

going to be devastating to farmers in Iowa. The state Grassley represents. He indicated that he

expects members of Congress to ask for waivers to tariffs related to agriculture. In Iowa,

pigs are important. If you're from there or you've driven through

all those pork processing facilities, yeah, a lot of that's Canadian bacon, imported pigs.

The senator said, quote, I think a big tariff on those pigs would be catastrophic for pork in Iowa, and I'll bet you

we'll be asking for exemptions on that. He brought up exemptions for potash too. That's for fertilizer.

It seems like there might be so many exemptions that the We Don't need Canada talking point might be eroded.

He also seemed to take the tone of, well, you voted for this.

It might be as close to a Republican saying you hit the find out stage as we get when he said,

I think we have to realize he's doing what the voters voted him to do,

and we'll see how it works out. If he's doing it for negotiating purposes to get people to the

table to bring tariffs down, and we have lower tariffs around the world, then we'll have to say

he's successful. If he fails to do that, and it's catastrophic for Iowa and the nation's economy, then I'd have to say he's successful. If he fails to do that and it's catastrophic for Iowa

and the nation's economy, then I'd have to say I told you so. We focused on Iowa with this,
