So today, we're going to talk about Trump voters turning on him over the economy.

As Trump says that affordability is a con job,

and Treasury Secretary and soybean farmer Scott Besent tells people that it wasn't the tariffs

that destroyed the job market, but instead immigration and the shutdown, which are both still

Trump policies, by the way. More and more Trump voters are blaming him for the state of the

economy.

New polling has led to some pretty interesting findings,

and it's another little item that gives bad vibes for Republicans seeking re-election in the midterms.

Almost half, 46% of Americans are saying the cost of living is the worst it's ever been in their lives.

When you're just looking at people who voted for Trump in 2024, the number is still more than a third, or 37%. Okay, sure, but who do they blame for it? Well, the polling asked that as well.

18% of 2024 Trump voters admitted that Trump has full responsibility for the economy.

Another 7% of his own voters say it's mostly him, some Biden.

One out of four Trump voters says the state of the economy is entirely or mostly his responsibility.

The economy isn't doing well, and without a massive change of direction, it's likely to get worse before the midterms.

And at least one in four Trump voters believes it's his fault.

That's going to impact the midterms.

It's the economy, stupid.

And when all the respondents were asked, which party they thought was best prepared to bring down the cost of living.

Democrats held a two-point lead. There were some really interesting tidbits when you get down

into the cross tabs about other questions. One thing I found incredibly interesting is that

Trump's energy push is backfiring.
