Well, howdy there internet people, let's bow again. So today we are going to talk about

Trump and Smith and dates and Trump's reaction to that date and why Smith is moving forward.

Okay, so if you missed it, the Special Counsel's Office is requesting a trial date of January 2nd, 2024 for the election interference stuff.

Now, basically, Smith is trying to move the case along. Why? Because it's in the public's interest.

It really is. It's not just part of the legal filing or any of that.

It really is in the public's interest.

The public will have to exercise a right and they need the information to do that.

Delaying the trial until after the election, which is now what Trump is

openly requesting, that interferes with the election. It denies people the information they need to make

their decision. If Trump was to advance through the 2024 cycle, people wouldn't need to know the

outcome of these cases prior to voting. It's probably going to be a determining factor for some. So Smith's

legal argument is that it's in the public's interest for a speedy trial.

It is in the public's interest so they can exercise their rights, delaying a trial for the sake of an election is interfering

with that election. It is putting a finger on the scales and saying we are going to deny the public this

information. We are going to deny justice. We are going to stop all of this and

shield the public from any information that comes out. So it favors Trump. And I don't believe that that's actually in

Trump's best interest. I really don't. That's a subject for

another video, but his desire to delay is it is not really a sound election strategy. But after this

news Trump of course got on social media put out a bunch of

rhetoric I think he called Smith a lunatic claim if you're fed up of having to pay a fee every time you pay abroad, stop it.
