Well, howdy there, Internet people? It's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about Trump's transition, not transitioning.

As the incoming Trump administration prepares to take over, there's a massive delay building.

Trump's team still hasn't signed the various memorandums of understanding. Without the agreements, Trump's team can't access certain information, secure servers, or people.

This means the incoming Trump team will not be up to speed on anything that isn't public knowledge.

I know, some of you have doubts about the stuff that is public knowledge.

During a change of administration, the transition teams are normally in place by mid-November.

Trump has named his preferred cabinet, but they won't even have basic access if the agreements

aren't signed. Why hasn't Trump's team signed?

Trump World really isn't saying what the holdup is. There are various theories. Most of the

theories being floated reflect the concerns of those people floating them. Those who believe

Trump's cabinet picks are unqualified say it's because the agreements would allow FBI background checks.

Those who see Trump as childish believe it's just him being obstinate.

One interesting statement came from the director of the Center for Presidential Transition,

who said, quote, The main thing that it says is that the members of the Center for Presidential Transition, who said, quote, the main thing that it says

is that the members of the transition team will be bound by an ethics agreement that ensures

that they're using information appropriately, that they limit the use of lobbyists and foreign

agents, and that individuals who leave the transition and go back to

the private sector won't use this information for personal gain. Senators are saying the lack of

agreements and therefore lack of background investigations will slow confirmation of Trump nominees

and will produce a lengthier hearing process.

Of larger concern to those who are familiar with transitions are all of those people whose names

we don't hear on the news. When a new administration comes in, the top 20 or so positions get all of the scrutiny and news coverage.
