So today, we're going to talk about Trump's budget framework moving forward.

Trump and Johnson were able to push the Senate's budget resolution plan through the House.

This effectively unlocked away for them to side-step the filibuster.

This was the first step in a multi-step

process known as budget reconciliation. All of the tension and disagreement inside the Republican

party since Trump took office was over the first step. That step is basically a resolution

that says, we're going to do X.

It had nothing to do with actually doing X or voting to enact X.

Now that they've gotten the resolution, committees in both the Senate and the House will try to come up with plans on what to cut.

They need to match.

Fiscal Hawk Republicans in the House actually want

to make the cuts necessary to pay for Trump's tax cut that primarily benefits the wealthy.

This is where the giant Medicaid cuts and cuts to children's health insurance would come from.
