Well, howdy there, Internet people. It's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about a

question about Trump's picks. Republican senators have pushed back on a number of Trump's

nominees now, and it sparked some confusion and some unwarranted optimism. Here's one of

the questions. Quote, Ms. Bell, I'm looking at the news,

and it looks like two more of Trump's picks have gone down and or are going down. That's four by my

count. I'm not understanding something. From what I understand, it only needs a simple majority

in the Senate to confirm and the Republicans

have a way more than enough votes. Is there really a resistance to Trump within the Republicans

in the Senate? Why are his picks dropping like flies? I feel dumb asking this because I'm worried

the answer is going to be obvious.

So, let's dash everybody's hopes first.

No, there's not really some group of Republican senators working against the president.

Do not count on the senators who are pushing back against his nominees to stop him from rolling back climate regulations

or reproductive rights or anything else like that. It won't happen. There will be a video down

below that goes over who the senators are that are most likely to push back. And so far,

yeah, the ones named in the video are the ones pushing back the hardest.

Now, let's go over why.

It's not because they're suddenly anti-Trump or decided they want liberals in the cabinet.

There's several potential motives.

Some are ideological, but most are incredibly cynical. Let's start with the one good

motive that actually applies to a couple of them. They believe in the Constitution, and they're
