So today, we're going to talk about Trump hitting farmers again.

This time, he's also hitting schools and food banks at the same time.

Trump's freezes and pauses have hurt American farmers all over the country.

Now, the USDA is reportedly getting rid of two more programs.

One provides funding for schools to obtain food from local farmers. The other helps places like

food banks obtain food from local farmers. The programs help farmers sell food, institutions

buy food, and they provide a sustainability

and national security benefit to the United States by helping to build and maintain local

food supply chains.

Recently, Trump posted to social media, quote, to the great farmers of the United States, get ready to start making a lot

of agriculture product to be sold inside, all caps, of the United States. Tariffs will go on

external product on April 2nd. Have fun. The tariffs and the retaliations are hurting farmers and cutting off foreign markets,

and now Trump is shutting down programs to help them sell inside, all caps, the United States.

That doesn't sound like fun at all.

The name of the programs are the local food for school's cooperative agreement program.

Farmers, you just call this LFS, and the local food purchase assistance cooperative agreement program.

That's the LFPA.

The two programs constitute more than a billion dollars.

This could cause a little whiplash for farmers,

because some might have just heard that the LFPA money was unfrozen. The communications from the

government are less than clear. The reporting seems to suggest the unfreezing only applied to existing agreements and that funding
