Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Trump returning a trillion tariff dollars and it destroying our economy.

The Supreme Court will determine whether or not Trump's tariffs exceed his authority.

If they strike down his tariffs, that money will likely have to be

returned. The number floating around the internet is a trillion dollars. But where did that number

come from? Trump said, quote, without tariffs and all of the trillions of dollars we have already

taken in, our country would

be completely destroyed.

Fact check.

We have not taken in a trillion dollars already, much less trillions of dollars.

In a filing submitted to SCOTUS, Treasury Secretary Scott Besant said, quote,

For example, delaying a ruling until June 2026 could result in a scenario in which

$750 billion to $1 trillion in tariffs have already been collected, and unwinding them could cause

significant disruption. So, the number isn them could cause significant disruption.

So the number isn't really a trillion dollars, not for another nine months, and even then

it could be 25% lower.

Turns out making economic estimates is like super hard.

But more importantly, I have questions about how exactly it will completely destroy the

economy. Look, Republicans are famous for Doublethink, but normally it's intangible ideas and

talking points. The immigrant who can't speak English is taking your good paying job, while also being

unemployed and causing all the crime type stuff.

This is economics and math.
