In Los Angeles, I'm Kyle Rizdole. It is Wednesday today, the 21st of December. Good as always

to have you along, everybody. We lead the show today, not with inflation, though we will get there,

and not with housing, though we'll get there too, but with trade, which while it gets less attention,

than inflation and housing, especially now, is at least as important to the health of this economy.

So we are going to give trade some attention right now with the United States Trade Representative,

Ambassador Catherine Ty. Ambassador, welcome to the program. It's great to be on.

So just because so much of the economic news of the late has been inflation and J. Powell and the

Fed and consumers and all of that, do me a favor, would you, and give us your sense of America's

place in the global trade environment, what, two years now into the Biden administration?

Well, we have been incredibly busy for these first two years. Just this year, for instance,

we've launched the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework. We are also in the midst of negotiating a

global, sustainable, steel, and aluminum arrangement with the European Union. Then we have been very

busy and to to our own horn in partnership with Mexico very successfully enforcing the labor

provisions of the US, Mexico, Canada, and Greenment. So when we look around ourselves in the global
