Well, howdy there internet people, it's Bell again.

So today we're going to talk about the viral McConnell clip

and go through a little bit of fact checking and add some context to it.

We're doing this because as we were getting ready

for the Roads Not Taken show, there were dozens of questions about the clip and

why it wasn't on every news show.

We also got questions from people who wanted to see more

than just the short clip circulating.

And then people wondering if it was a fake clip. If you haven't seen it yet, it's Senator McConnell

at a podium. And he says, quote, well that's a good question. You already know the answer. I think the demonization of Ukraine began with Tucker Carlson, who in my opinion ended up or he should have been all along, which is interviewing Vladimir Putin.

And so he had an enormous audience, which convinced a lot of rank and file Republicans that

maybe this was a mistake. I think the former

president had sort of mixed views on it. We all felt the border was a complete

disaster, myself included.

And Chad, you remember covering the phases we went through.

First, it was an effort to make law which requires you to deal with Democrats, and

then a number of our members thought it

wasn't good enough and then nominee for president didn't seem to want to do

anything at all. Okay so first this isn't a deep fake. Yes that is actually

McConnell. Yes it is McConnell being asked why it took so long to get something through Congress.

So, why isn't it leading the news cycle?

Because it's a few months old.
