Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about the

Senate's all-nighter and answer a question about it. The Senate moved on to the next phase of the

budget reconciliation process for their plan and moved on to actually voting on the budget blueprint.

That created a voterrama, which is a lengthy series of votes that basically approved the

rough sketch of the budget and the next steps for the next phase.

The Senate made it through the first phase and actually has a budget resolution now,

something the House hasn't even come close to.

Traditionally, during the voter drama,

the party that isn't in power tries to throw embarrassing amendments into the votes.

Last night was no exception.

Republicans refused to block tax breaks to billionaires. I'm shocked.

They refused to adopt most of the common sense amendments that Americans want, but that doesn't

mean the Democratic Party effort was worthless. They actually got Senator Holly to cross on a vote

at one point.

In the end, the only accepted amendment was one to strengthen Medicaid and Medicare,

and that was one proposed by a Republican to end the criticism of the potential cuts.

So, the Senate is already further along than the House in the budget reconciliation process,

despite the House having a massive head start.

But again, I can't stress this enough.

There is a lot more coming in the budget reconciliation process and a couple of different ways

for it to fail.
