Well, howdy there internet people let's bow again? So today we are going to talk about the

U.S. House of Representatives, particularly Republicans in the House, Merrick Garland, the vote what all of this is about and where it is likely to go from here because

there's a there's a lot of social media talk about this that probably needs some context.

Okay, so first what is all of this about?

Recordings, recordings of Biden talking to the DOJ.

That's what it's about.

For whatever reason, House Republicans want those recordings.

My guess is they believe something is embarrassing on them.

Now, they want those recordings. The thing is the Department of Justice is part of

the executive branch and the conversation was literally with the executive.

It seems as though executive privilege probably applies here. So there's that. There's the separation of powers issue.

DOJ is saying that the House Republicans never established a legislative purpose to have a need to have these.

I honestly haven't even seen them try to which is kind of strange because I feel like they could they could come up with one you know but I haven't really seen that presented in any way which they would need

to to get through the separation of powers the executive privilege of all of that

DOJ also has an issue due to privacy concerns

in saying that if it was to get politicized and publicized,

it might dissuade people in the future from talking to them.

I get that from DOJ's standpoint.

I understand what's being said there.

I don't know that that's a sound legal argument but I understand what's being

said. Now under normal circumstances this probably wouldn't come up but given the

hyper politicized nature of everything I understand what's being said.
