Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about the GOP majority shrinking again, after Dems win again in Virginia

and what it means. Okay, first the news. Then we'll get to the question that keeps coming in.

Democratic candidate James Walkinshaw won in the special election to fill the vacant seat of the 11th Congressional District in Virginia.

It wasn't even close. A blowout, landslide, whatever term you want to use, it applies.

It looks like he won by almost 50 points.

Not one with 50 percent, won by 50 points.

With the outstanding votes counted, it looks like he'll have around 75 percent of the vote,

to the Republican candidates 25 percent. This win shrank the House GOP's majority. It's now

219 to 213. He was sworn in on Tuesday, and on Wednesday he signed on to Massey's Epstein petition.

That brought the petition to 217. It only needs 218. There's another Democratic Party win expected

later this month. That's the news. The DNC chair, Ken Martin, said the win, quote,

continues the dominant trend we're seeing so far this year. Democrats are massively overperforming in nearly every race.

The question is, is this another sign of Trump Tariff, One Big Beautiful Bill backlash?

Eh, kind of. But not as big as those numbers in the news portion might suggest. The race wasn't ever

in doubt. This district is reliably blue. And since it's near D.C. and Trump's job cuts

directly hurt the community, the odds of a Republican winning were even slimmer than normal.

But that doesn't mean Democrats didn't overperform.

They did.
