Well, howdy there, internet people, let's bow again.

So today we're going to talk about the news from the committee,

and whether or not that news really matters, the committees kind of indicated that

they are going to proceed with making referrals. And when I first heard it didn't really make any

sense at this point. It would have made sense earlier, but right now I mean what

is it really going to do? Is it going to initiate any action?

Not really.

The committee has indicated that it's going to issue criminal referrals to the Department of Justice for

things related to January 6th. Now with the notable exception of Trump not cooperating with a subpoena, not cooperating with

the committee, none of it actually matters. It doesn't initiate any action. The Department of Justice has

grand jury going on and we just found out subpoenas have been flying out all over the country since last month.

The Department of Justice isn't going to start anything new because of these referrals.

Okay, so why are they doing?

One thing that we know is that the members of the committee,

they're not

they're not bad at what they do. They're pretty

politically astute people.

So if the referrals aren't going to initiate any action

because that action is already being taken, what would be another reason to issue the referrals?

To take credit. If I'm Trump or in Trump's circle, this is really, really a bad sign. The committee absolutely believes that the Department of Justice is going to proceed.

I can't think of any other way to read this.

They wouldn't issue the referrals if they didn't think that DOJ was going to move forward with it,
