Well, howdy there, internet people's about again so today we're going to talk

about the Biden administration revamping some of the rules related to asylum that were put into place under the Trump

administration. Under Trump's policies, the window for asylum seekers was pretty small. He

shrank it as much as humanly possible. The idea was to disallow as many immigrants as possible

using this system. He was operating under the assumption that it's a system that is often gamed by people wanting to get admittance.

That's not true.

Generally speaking, if you want to come here and live in the shadows, you don't actually go and intentionally have contact with law enforcement

which the asylum system requires. That's just another made up Trump

talking point.

Some of the things that he did was that he removed

the ability to flee from domestic violence.

He also removed the ability to flee based on the actions of non-state

actors. The Biden administration has changed that. Is the process changing that.

The announcement's been made. Trump used very broad

language to limit who could apply. That's being altered as it should be. Our asylum system is designed to take those who are in

danger. That's its purpose. When you are talking about Central America in particular fleeing domestic violence, that
