Taylor Swift, Austria, and a near miss. According to reports, three of Taylor Swift's

concerts have been cancelled in Vienna.

A message from Barracuda Music said,

We have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows

for everyone's safety.

It went on to say that all tickets would be refunded

automatically. The obvious question is why the shows were canceled and why we're

talking about it. Two suspects have been arrested,

one being identified as a 19-year-old Austrian citizen.

The allegations reportedly center on a plan on an attack on Vienna with the focus of The year old pledged allegiance to IS after radicalizing online.

Authorities also stated that concrete preparatory measures had been undertaken and

that the substance had been recovered and were being analyzed.

The concert would have drawn at least 60,000 people per day.

After the 2017 incident at an Ariana Grande concert, Western entities have become more proactive regarding large concerts.

An examination of the events leading up to the 2017 show suggested British domestic intelligence

failed to act promptly and possibly missed a window to preempt the incident.

Law enforcement went on to say, quote, from the current standpoint of the investigation,

we assume that the target of the attack were events in the Vienna region. While some may find the cancellation upsetting,

if there was any uncertainty regarding the extent of the plot

or whether any elements were still at large, the prudent and correct move is absolutely to

safeguard the tens of thousands of lives and cancel the show.
