Well, howdy there internet people, let's bow again.

So today we are going to talk about soft landings

and economics and recession and the Biden administration

and what you're likely to see coming down the path as we move

closer towards the election.

We have heard that term over and over again. The Biden administration wants a soft landing. What is it?

Did you know? I didn't. In normal people language, a soft landing is basically getting inflation down without causing a recession.

Sounds like that should be easy in theory.

Turns out they've only been able to do it once

and like the last half century.

So it's not an easy thing.

Back in March, Goldman Sachs said that the chance of recession this year was 35%.

They have revised their estimates down to 15%.

To you and I, 15%, that may actually still sound high.

But according to economists, that's kind of average.

So there is a feeling now that the Biden administration and the Fed and everything working together might have actually achieved a soft landing.

This was echoed by the chief economist over at Moody's Analytics as well, who said that a recent report basically had

soft landing written all over it. So what does that mean? Those are two big names in economics.

Does that mean that everybody feels that way?

No, of course not.

But the growing feeling is that even if one occurs it won't be that bad.

It'll be shallow and short.
