So today, we're going to talk about Senate Republicans owning the Iran War.

So, a half-hearted War Powers Resolution vote took place in the Senate.

It would have blocked Trump from further strikes in Iran.

It was a party-line vote with the exception of Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky,

who voted in favor.

And Democratic Senator, in name only, John Federman of Kentucky, who voted in favor, and Democratic Senator, and name only John Federman of Pennsylvania, who voted against.

They're calling this a war powers resolution vote, but let's be clear.

Senate Republicans don't care about the war power resolution.

They've given away that power to the presidency.

There will be an explainer down below on the war powers resolution.

But let's be clear about something.

Trump appears to already be in violation of the war powers resolution. See, contrary to popular belief,

the war powers resolution is in effect all the time. The text limiting Trump is clear in Title 50

Chapter 33. It says, quote, the constitutional powers of the president as commander-in-chief to introduce United States armed forces into hostilities, or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances, are exercised only pursuant to,

1. A declaration of war.

2. Specific statutory authorization.

Or 3. A national emergency created by attack upon the United States,

its territories or possessions, or its armed forces.

Which of those three things happened? There was not an attack upon the United States. There was not a
