So today we are going to talk about some news coming out of Seattle,

dealing with law enforcement and something that happened back in January.

This is probably going to get a whole bunch of coverage but I feel like

something might get missed while it's being covered so we're going to kind of

run through what occurred.

Okay, so back in January, I want to say January 23rd, an officer according to reporting was driving had I want to say had their lights on but not their siren and was driving roughly 74 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone.

Hit a 23 year old grad student.

A conversation was recorded with some officers discussing it.

She's dead. The person says before laughing.

Only one side of the conversation is recorded.

No, it's a regular person.

Goes on and says, yeah, just write a check.

$11,000. She was 26 anyway.

She had limited value. I mean, obviously, there's a whole bunch wrong with this, and I feel like that's

going to be covered at length. But what I would like to know is what prompted the officer to say,

no, it's a regular person. Who isn't a regular person?

Who would have taken this from a matter that they were laughing about and turned it into somebody, something that they

were celebrating.

This is a sign. This is a sign a huge sign for Seattle PD.
