Well, howdy there internet people, let's bow again.

So today we are going to talk about another question that has come up regarding Ukraine

and numbers and how many people are there and all of that stuff. It's come up a couple of

times and it's based on two assumptions.

Now, I have problems with both of these assumptions.

I don't think they're valid.

And we'll go over the problems with the assumptions, but

then we'll pretend like those problems don't exist and we'll go from there.

Okay, so the general idea is that Russia didn't want the whole country.

That's why they didn't send in that many troops.

They just wanted east of the river and they have the support of the people there.

Okay, so the two assumptions are

that that's what Russia wanted at the outset. They just wanted east of the river

and that they have support. I don't believe either of those are true. I would point out that Russia took land west of the river.

It's just been kicked out of it now. The Russian plan when this started was to take the capital.

They were trying to take the whole country. They failed. Now, could they have altered victory conditions and now they're saying

we're just going to take east of the river? Sure, sure, that's true. But the idea that that was

their plan at the outset and that's why they used so few troops.

That's just not true.

That's not real.

They absolutely tried to take the capital and they failed.

They tried and they succeeded in taking some dirt west of the river and then got pushed out.
