Well, howdy there internet people, Lidsboo again. So today we are going to talk a little bit about

Russia and ages. And we're going to go over some information that has started to circulate and it's not wrong.

It's actually accurate information and even the overall conclusion that is being reached by it isn't wrong.

But the information is incomplete and because of that it's leaving people with a

misconception about what is going to actually be happening on the ground in Ukraine.

So we're just going to kind of go over some changes that the Russian government has made to the ages that people are allowed to serve or

forced to serve in their military.

If you have seen a meme or a headline that says the

Russia military will now be calling up 70 year olds, 70 year olds, 70. That's not actually wrong. That is not inaccurate. But that age only applies to the absolute top tier of ranks.

You're talking about generals here.

If you are a senior commander, your maximum callback age is 65 if you are a junior officer

it is 60 for average rank and file these are the people that would be running around from trench to

trench. It is 55. So it's not going to be 70 year olds out there in the trenches.

Now that is for reservists,

for those who have completed their service

and are being called back, depending on the category, the maximum age

will be 40, 50, or 55.

Also having to do with who's out in the field.

And then there's the other end of the spectrum, the lower end.

There was a plan by the Ministry of Defense to say it's going to be

age 21 to 30. The Russian government decided now it's going to be 18 to 30 and that's to start

So the general tone of these headlines and the memes and everything is that this is really bad news for Russia
