So today, we're going to talk about Paxton's attorney endorsing

Tala Rico. In what may be foreshadowing of things to come, the man who represented Texas

Attorney General Ken Paxton for almost a decade, and stood by him through an impeachment and accusations ranging from

corruption to securities fraud, has publicly endorsed Paxton's senatorial opponent. Democrat James

Talariko. Attorney Dan Cogdale, who helped secure Paxton's impeachment acquittal in 2023, told the AP, quote,

I worked my rear off for the man for nine years, but that's a different inquiry. My obligation to Ken ended at the courthouse steps, and my obligation as a citizen is to do what I think is the right

thing. He did not say rear. According to Cogdale, it wasn't actually Paxton's seemingly

endless lists of scandals that was behind his decision. It was that Paxton was a bootlicker. That's his terminology,

not mine. He said Texas had real issues, and quote, to simply bootlick or rubber-stamped Trump,

that's not what we need in D.C. right now. Paxton's team is saying that Cogdale is a Democrat, and it seems like he might be.

But it's Texas, and reporting says Cogdale has contributed more cash to Republican candidates

than Democrats over the years. On his podcast, Cogdale said, quote, I defended Ken Paxton for years
