So today we are going to talk about Ohio

and a yes or no question, issue one.

And what it means when you really kind of get down to it, at least the way I see it.

It's worth noting, polls should be open now, they will close at 730. Okay so it's pretty simple issue one deals

with how the Constitution in the state of Ohio gets changed.

Currently, 51%, not even 51%, really 50% plus one.

A simple majority need to support an amendment to the Constitution for it to move

forward. If you vote no it stays like that. If you vote no, it stays like that.

If you vote yes, it makes it harder.

60% would have to support it.

It would have to clear 60%.

What are the constitutional amendments there to the state constitution? What are they used for, generally speaking?

They're used as a check on legislative authority, right? You want something protected or you want to make sure that the legislators can't do something.

That's what it's for.

Because if it was just like a normal law you would use

normal legislation. The amendment process is to curtail them.

It's a check on legislative tyranny.

Why do they want to make it harder for citizens

to check the government. I mean seriously. There's only

one reason they know they are enacting laws that the majority of people don't support.

It's the only reason this would come up.
